Facial recognition for swimming pool access

At Strandpark De Zeeuwse Kust, we use facial recognition to provide easy access to the swimming pool. This innovative system works through the Strandpark app, where you can easily upload a photo. Below, you will find information about how the process works, your privacy and the alternatives we offer.

    How it works

Upload a photo in the app
Add a passport-style photo or selfie through the Strandpark app.

    Important guidelines for your photo:

    • Look directly at the camera.
    • Make sure your face is centred in the photo.
    • Do not wear accessories such as sunglasses, caps or hats.
    • Make sure you are the only person in the photo—no other people or animals.

    Giving consent
When uploading your photo, you will be asked to explicitly consent to the processing of your biometric data.

You can also delete your photo during your stay. Please note that you will not be able to upload another photo afterwards.

    No facial recognition? No problem!

If you prefer not to use facial recognition, please let reception know. We offer the following alternative:

    • A QR code via the app.

    Privacy and data management

When using facial recognition, we take your privacy into account:

Processing: Your photo is converted into a facial template by our supplier, EasySecure.

Deletion: Your photo and facial template will be deleted immediately after your reservation ends, unless you consent to the data being stored for future visits. If you have given consent, your photo and facial template will be retained for up to 180 days after your departure date.

You can also delete your photo during your stay. Please note that you will not be able to upload another photo afterwards.

GDPR compliance: We ask for your explicit consent before processing biometric data, ensuring that your data is handled securely and in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
